Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager leads the day-to-day delivery of human resources programs and services across AiGC. The role translates corporate people priorities into consistent operational practices and provides practical advice to leaders and employees across recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compensation administration, learning and development, workforce planning, and HR policy implementation.

The Manager strengthens HR service capacity by coordinating priorities, improving processes and tools, maintaining accurate workforce information, and supporting timely, compliant decision-making. The position coordinates and collaborates cross-divisionally with corporate support resources as required, to ensure the effective delivery of HR programs and services.
About the Role
In this role, you will own:
HR Operations and Service Delivery
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day HR service delivery, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits administration, learning and development, employee records, and offboarding.
- Implements HR programs, policies, initiatives, and workforce strategies approved by the Director, HR.
- Establish clear service standards, work plans, role assignments, and follow-up practices to support timely and consistent delivery.
- Review HR documentation and transactions for accuracy, completeness, confidentiality, and alignment with approved policies and frameworks.
- Prepare and analyze HR operational metrics, reports, dashboards, and briefing materials for Director, HR review.
- Identify operational issues and recommend practical solutions, process improvements, templates, and tools.
- Perform and support administrative HR duties as required; including preparation of HR documentation, maintenance of confidential records, coordination and tracking of personnel activities, data entry, and general correspondence.
People Leadership and Team Coordination
- Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, workload coordination, and quality oversight to occasional assigned HR support staff.
- Clarify responsibilities between professional HR work and administrative coordination, ensuring work is assigned at the appropriate level.
- Build team capability through regular feedback, knowledge sharing, documented procedures, and cross-training.
- Support a collaborative, respectful, accountable, and service-focused AiGC team environment and values-aligned culture.
Employee and Leader Advisory Services
- Provide employees and leaders with practical guidance on employee relations, performance expectations, attendance, workplace concerns, accommodations, and application of HR policies.
- Support fair, well-documented, and timely resolution of workplace matters, escalating complex, sensitive, or high-risk issues to the Director.
- Prepare briefing materials, options, and recommendations to support management decisions.
- Promote consistent employee experiences and application of HR practices across the organization.
- Talent Acquisition, Workforce Planning and Development
- Oversee recruitment and selection activities from approved requisition through onboarding, ensuring consistent processes, candidate communication, documentation, and approvals.
- Support workforce planning, succession planning, talent reviews, and position development activities.
- Coordinate annual and ongoing performance management activities and support leaders in setting clear goals and development plans.
- Identify learning needs and coordinate practical development solutions aligned with organizational priorities.
- Partner with leaders and corporate functions to integrate HR considerations into operational planning and organizational initiatives.
Policy, Compliance, Risk and Records
- Support development, implementation, communication, and regular review of HR policies, procedures, forms, and guidance materials.
- Monitor HR activities for compliance with applicable employment and privacy requirements, corporate policies, records management expectations, and delegated authorities.
- Maintain appropriate controls for confidential employee information and support audits, information requests, and risk mitigation activities.
- Maintain reliable workforce data, organizational charts, position information, recruitment trackers, and HR records.
- Track issues, commitments, and emerging workforce risks and provide regular updates to the Director.
What you Bring
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible human resources experience, including experience providing advice to leaders and coordinating multiple HR programs or services.
- Demonstrated experience in employee relations, recruitment, performance management, policy implementation, workforce planning, and HR operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear recommendations, policies, procedures, and briefing materials.
- Working knowledge of Alberta employment standards, human rights, occupational health and safety, privacy, and other requirements relevant to the role.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with sound judgment and discretion.
- Strong employee leadership, coaching, project coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred:
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and experience using HR information systems, applicant tracking systems, or workforce reporting tools.
- Experience in public-sector, Crown corporation, gaming, or regulated environments.
- CPHR designation or progress towards designation.
